2024 saw the 100th running of the annual Mills Trophy Race with more than 160 sailing yachts participating. This annual sailing event is held each year in June on Lake Erie, and as the first major event of the year, doubles as a signal that boating season has truly begun on the lake.
Multiple classes of vessels (PHRF, JAM, Double-Handed, Multi-Hull, and Classics) competed across three different courses, which all began near the Toledo Harbor Light and crossed the finish line just off South Bass Island (Put-in-Bay). Each course put sailors in a test of navigational skill that kicked off in the afternoon and continued through the night.
