Behind The Scenes: Helicopter Aerial Mapping

If you follow along with TAM, you know we love drones. They are incredibly capable tools, a tool that we have built our business upon. We truly live the drone life and regularly embrace their potential to successfully complete a wide variety of creative and technical missions.

That said, we certainly don’t turn a blind eye to the capabilities and usefulness of manned aircraft. As we previously mentioned, we do have projects and client initiatives best tackled with manned aircraft. Sometimes it’s a matter of efficiency, sometimes it’s a matter of legality, sometimes it’s a matter of capabilities, and often it’s a combination of all three.

Aerial Mapping and Helicopters and Missions, Oh My!

In the video below, we take you behind the scenes on an aerial mapping mission conducted from a helicopter high above the regulatory limits of unmanned aircraft. Due to specific requirements we determined based upon client’s needs, our team put together a new setup to more efficiently complete the project. Additional considerations were made to ensure the setup was not only completely safe to utilize outside the aircraft, but also legally within regulatory limits.
